If you were a true fan of Nic, you would buy the DVD and encourage others to do the same. How else is he supposed to support himself and Julia (his wife).

I said this about the uploads of 'Arc' and 'Devil' people have put on here-but was shouted down. I suppose if it spreads the word......what else are you supposed to do in the digital age?

@Max Cuthbert well I appreciate that it spreads the word but buying the DVD will help Nic in practical ways, as would buying the album Penguin Eggs. Do not buy any prior albums as they will not help Nic (or Julia). He has been roundly ripped off (to put it politely) by the current owners of those. However buying Nick's compilation albums from Mollie Records WILL go directly to him.

You're preaching to the choir. If you look a bit further you'll see I've said the very same thing to someone else(I think he is Dutch).
BTW I am a fan from way back; I was told in the mid 70s to look out for Jones, bought the record when it had languished in the local shop for a while('Devil') and eventually got to see him live-a lot ,meet/chat-he even gave me a page of guitar tunings on a(Dartford) folk club flyer. I suspect that the masters of 'Devil' and 'Arc' are too old and damaged to make any difference anymore. You don't need to tell me 'not to buy' I already had four-(or five)copies of 'eggs' plus the first two on vinyl.I also remember the rip off thing, back in the day. I had nothing to do with that either.

@Max Cuthbert hi max, wasn't getting at you per se. I just wish that folks would buy the DVD so Nic could earn some money...which he won't from illegal uploads to YouTube et al. Proudfoot, the makers of the film are reasonably keen to take down these rip offs, and quite rightly too imho, as I suspect, yours. True fans would only want to help Nic. So my message is to others, not your good self. No one received payment for taking part (I certainly didn't anyway) we all did it for Nic.

@Max Cuthbert hi Max, am assuming you have the DVD. If so, at some point there is a still photo of Nic about to smash a guitar from above his head. It's mine! I still have it and performed with it last Saturday evening in Berkhampstead. I also have a Fylde which is my go to guitar if using a tuning other than standard.

@Emma Emma Nic's great, many happy memories. You might also like; Tony Rose, Chris Foster and Martin Wyndham-Read, same era, similar type of music. No-one played quite as well as Nic,but then,in those days it was all about the song.

@Emma Emma I'd suggest starting with 'layers' by Chris Foster if only because it has Nic backing him up on fiddle(he was on quite a few records back in the 70s as a 'session musician'). He lives in Iceland now but I think he used to be based around Salisbury originally, hence the west country accent.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9llvHOdMDLE https://www.amazon.co.uk/Layers-Chris-Foster/dp/B01N0SZ576/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1543541481&sr=8-2&keywords=Chris+Foster

@Max Cuthbert this rip off on YouTube is from the DVD created by Proudfoot. The chap sold the idea to the BBC who then commissioned him to make it. Nic and Julia make some money from the sales of the DVD. Well certainly if you buy it from Molliemusic, their "shop". It's also the place to buy Nic's compilation CDs. Apart from Nic appearing to smash my Yamaha 365s in one of the still photos, yours truly finally makes an appearance after about 30 mins or so.
